Glasgow born Michelle McManus is a Scottish singer-songwriter, actress, radio DJ and television presenter, who rose to fame after winning the second series of the UK talent show ‘Pop Idol’.

After winning the show, Michelle enjoyed huge international success The winners single “All This Time” was a massive No.1 hit for her, and became one of the best selling singles of 2003. A follow up single “The Meaning of Love” from the debut album of the same name was also a big Top 20 hit

.Over the years Michelle has remained a household name, thanks to her continued performing, but also as a favourite on reality TV shows. She has also appeared in many stage shows and musicals, including ‘The Vagina Monologues’, ‘Discotivity’ and ‘The Rise and Fall of Little Voice’. On top of this, Michelle has made several guest presenting appearances on ‘Loose Women’ along with various other presenting and work.

None of which however prepared Michelle, for the whirlwind success that she was about to achieve in 2009, when she was chosen to front the new weekday Scottish lifestyle TV programme ‘The Hour’ alongside co-presenter Stephen Jardine. With this new found success, Michelle was asked to sing alongside Susan Boyle for a special personal performance for Pope Benedict XVI at his state visit to the UK in 2010.
